TTFN (again) my mars bar was yummy!
Hello my lovely crafty friends, apologies for not blogging for a while- no excuses really?!

Some great news, the lovely Tuesday craft group at Décor home & gift  Long Eaton is expanding to a Wednesday now too, starting  2nd July So Tuesday and Wednesday 10.30- 12.30. Just £10 per session, just attend when you can.

I have lots of photos to share with you from my classes, of what my clever ladies and (gentleman) have made, ....and a few of my motley crew, not THE Motley Crue, I wish I had some photos of THEM, oh Nikki Six is lush!! anyway!! huh-hum.

Firstly we have cards by J & B

The pink in this card is lovely the photo doesn't do it justice! it has  a lovely oriental feel to it.

Again cards by J & B. We have used the saturated canary stamp and used the paper piecing technique to add colour to her dress.

What did we ever do before spellbinder dies?

Now.. have a look and my boys. (my Motley crew) This is Brian-you would think butter wouldn't melt wouldn't you!? He bought the same starling bird into the house over 3 days- the third day it was dead unfortunately, it was foolish of me to keep putting it back outside!

These red baskets are what I used to put tamps and ink etc. for my class- not now though they have been commandeered!

This is Darcy.

Cor blimey its hot in this conservatory!!!

Anyway onto some more craftiness....
This card by Jen was made using the Jo firth young stamp set and coloured with copics.
... I adore the crispness of this card.

Here are a few upcoming cards that we will be making very soon.

News to follow soon of more groups/workshops including:
  • Ladies evening, (wine nibbles and crafting) (not sure which order that should be in)!

  • Mixed media canvas)

.

  • shabby chic plaques.

Do you have any suggestions? What do you think? let me know your crafty suggestions lets see what we can do!

Have a good week, I'm off to  have a  cuppa and a mars bar!

What a lovely afternoon

we had on Friday, we had a young (very talented) gentleman student join us, who wanted to try distress inks. He wasn't scared to get stuck in, and he had plenty of his own ideas.  Here is what he made!

Here is what Jenny created with the same theme using the distress inks.

(almost) Free digi stamp to download

Also on Friday  we used  one of  the many  saturated canary stamps.
Some stamps are digi's (digitally printed) for you to buy and then re print & resize yourself,  and some are actual stamps.

If you go to Krista smiths blog, you will be able to download a free digi image.(the image will be black & white)
http://saturated-canary.myshopify.com/products/boobie-love  (the image actually is almost free)

Here is some inspiration for your colouring (a card similar to this is for sale in my Etsy shop) https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AllisonTurnerDesigns

This is the one we did in Class on Friday.
These are really lovely stamps, and have the most gorgeous designs- notice the lovely eyes on the stamp. They are really easy to colour & use the paper piece technique.

This is the gorgeous card made by Glenis on Friday. The papers are my" minds eye unforgettable"

Next up we have the Jo Firth young stamps- This card almost fell together when I designed the original sample. really lovely stamps.  here is the stamp designer Jo's website for more inspiration. http://www.jofirthyoung.blogspot.co.uk/

These two cards were made by Julie,

These two were made by  Jennie, I love these clean and simple cards, and she has used some crisp linen base cards.

Phew it was a busy class- with lots of different samples available, and lots of mess and inky fingers at the end! All good fun. I had a really great afternoon.

Hi Folks, hey guess what I've just done...? I have joined the 21st century and uploaded a photo from my phone to Facebook...
Firstly we have Marilyn, her first time with Alcohol...I mean inks!!

Here is Pat, who has joined the Tuesday group. Pats second time using alcohol inks- she wasn't scared to let the colours go out of the lines & mix...this gives a real arty look I think. Well done to you Pat!

Now, I know I've put this on the blog before... but Here is Jenny's alcohol ink on acetate card made on the Friday group- this was the new inspiration for the cards above! Thank you Jenny.x

Next... a sneak peak at a  card for this Fridays group.

Almost the weekend.. lets hope it is boiling hot! I have a new bike that is just sitting here waiting to be used... I hate cycling... in fact all exercise.... but desperately need to do some exercise!

Have a good weekend, what ever you are doing.

Arghhhh I need more space!!

My craft room is just not big enough. I really need to make more hearts....

and I want to make some more canvas's  for sale- but I just don't have the room to get working on different projects.

I do like to try to make different things...I  love card making but sometimes I need something that I can keep or give as a gift. (or even better, to sell).

I'm off now to have a tidy up to see if I can make some space,  so that I can get creative
Have a good week.

Saturday, 1 June 2013

Hi folks, I hope you are enjoying the sunshine.
Well I've been playing with alcohol inks- and do you know I think they are really under used. They are really versatile and make a quick card- something I wouldn't normally make!

Here are some pictures of cards made at recent classes using

 Alcohol inks onto acetate.

Here are two cards made by Jenny, a variation of the one above- what do you think? Alcohol inks rule!

1.Stamp the flower image onto the acetate with stayzon ink.(carefully as stamping onto acetate can be slippery and tricky)

2.Turn the acetate over and colour with alcohol inks like paint, allow to dry.

3. Paint over the top of the coloured image carefully with Gesso, (or white acrylic paint),
also paint around the acetate edge to give it a border  this will highlight the image.

4.Mount the image onto a piece of text cardstock, the one used is from "7 gypsies conservatory"

5. mount onto a 5x5 card blank.
Jenny has added a pink ribbon, greeting and pink pearls. Stunning- what do you think?!

Honestly, please try alcohol inks, if like many people,  you have bought them and don't use them- get them out and play!!

Here are some cards using

alcohol inks and the pouncing technique onto white glossy card.

Now, a couple of snaps of my boys Brian and Darcy "helping me get ready" for classes. Aren't they gorgeous!

Im off now to make some future samples for classes- I've run out of powertex, so  I cannot continue with my sculptures. (horror)!
Bye for now!
